The Best Gym You'll Ever Use Is the One You Already Live In

The exercises were never the problem.

I've watched it happen for years. A patient leaves the clinic with five movements on a printed handout. They mean it. They fully intend to do them. Then Tuesday turns into Thursday, the handout ends up under the mail pile, and by the next visit they say the thing almost everyone says:

"I did them a couple times."

That is not a character flaw. Studies on home exercise programs consistently find that around half of patients don't follow through — and those are motivated people who paid money and took time off to be there. When half the population fails at something, the problem isn't the population. It's the design.

So I changed the design. I practice premium mobile physical therapy: one patient, one hour, delivered in your home.

Consistency is the whole game, and friction is what kills it

Almost nothing in rehab works in one visit. Tissue remodels over weeks; strength adapts over months; balance improves through repetition. Which means the biggest predictor of whether you get your life back isn't which exercise I choose — it's whether you actually do it, most days, long enough to matter.

Now count what a clinic visit really costs. Fifteen minutes there. Ten minutes early so you don't lose the slot. Forty-five minutes of treatment, part of which your therapist spends with the two other patients on the schedule. Fifteen minutes back. Two hours for a handful of minutes of care — before traffic, or a July afternoon when your back already hurts too much to endure a car ride. Then multiply it by twice a week for eight weeks.

People don't quit therapy because they stop caring. They quit because the tax on their daily life got too high. Every step between a person and their plan is a place the plan can die.

Mobile PT deletes those steps. I show up. You open the door. That's the entire commute. And when the friction disappears, the follow-through appears — not because the patient became more disciplined, but because they no longer had to be.

We train where your life actually happens

In a clinic, I watch you climb a set of practice stairs. In your home, I watch you climb your stairs, the ones with the turn at the bottom and the handrail on the wrong side. I see the couch that's four inches too low to stand up from, the rug that catches your toe every day, the bathroom with no grab bar, the garden bed you kneel at every spring.

That's the difference between rehearsing and doing. We solve the real obstacle, in the real place, and the people who live with you see it too.

Your house is already the equipment

Somewhere we picked up the idea that getting stronger requires a membership or a rack of dumbbells. It doesn't. Once you see your home the way I see it, you can't unsee it.

  • Kitchen counter → the safest balance bar in the house

  • Dining chair → sit-to-stands are the most functional strength exercise most adults over 50 can do

  • Stairs → step-ups, calf raises, and cardio intervals

  • Doorway → a chest and shoulder stretch frame

  • A gallon of water → 8 pounds.

This is where mobile PT quietly changes people. You don't just leave with exercises, you leave with new eyes. Patients tell me, "I did calf raises while I brushed my teeth." That's the win. Not a perfect program. One woven into a life until it stopped requiring willpower.

Movement doesn't have to be scheduled to count. It has to be frequent, progressive, and specific — and your home delivers all three for free.

What this looks like

I see a small number of patients across the Albuquerque area, one at a time, in their homes. No referral needed, no 20-minute slot with a therapist juggling three people. One-on-one focus, custom plan care, all built around the rooms you live in.

If you've started and stopped therapy before, the issue was probably never you.

Book your in-home evaluation. We'll walk your space, find the real obstacles, and build a plan you can keep.
